Nightscapes
“The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature.” — Joseph Campbell
A photograph I had in my mind for years until I found this particular location in Wales, UK. Waxing gibbous moon was perfectly lined up to light up the valley.
Star trails with my tent in the foreground captured in Wales, UK in mid-winter where nights are are long, cold and crisp.
Having being lived near Equator and in Northern Hemisphere all my life, Southern Hemispheric skys always fascinates me. Partly, because I’m not accustomed to its beauty, which I kind of like. Among many objects to see in night sky ‘Magellanic Clouds’ are one of my favorites. The perfect companion for peaceful Chilie'n Atacma desertscape.
One of the ‘reconstructed’ medieval houses of Butser Ancient Farm (Hampshire, UK) under starlight. One of my personal favorites..!
I prefer northern lights in cloudless skys for obvious reasons. But sometimes clouds add to the drama accentuating the beauty, just like in this occasion. It was still dusk, bit early for aurora but scatters clouds added depth to the sky. Wave after wave Arora illuminated the skys. What a show of colors..!!
I normally don’t shoot star trails in presence of moon. This is an exception. Waxing gibbous moon did a great job simplifying the sky; only the brightest stars had the strength to stand up to moon light. All in all a simple but beautiful image.
Bit of an odd title :) but I thought that explains it well. In picture is Matterhone mountain in Zermatt, Switzerland being lit by the rising moon.
I loved the tranquility of this location, only sound was the water descending from a stream. Sky was crystal clear. Trailing stars added effect of passing of time of a memorable night in outdoors..!
When Arora is on its full glory, even a barricade of clouds fail to stop them shining through. To be honest, I love the dynamism the clouds brought to the scene in this particular case.
In photo is Copper Horse Statue of Windsor Long walk with International Space Station (ISS) passing by. The status has been opened in 1820 to commemorate King George III. For me this photo reminds about the contributions ancient Astronomers, Scientists and Engineers made towards astronomy ‘leading the way’ to current technological advancement such as ISS.
ASetting of full moon in May; as I could not plan this full moon well, ended up heading to Windsor Great Park looking for a location. For my astonishment, there was mist..!! I just loved the glow of the setting moon.
Another photograph from Butser Ancient Farm which ‘kind of’ depicts ancient village.
A location in Wales, UK I love to photograph. Image shows Zodiacal light with this beautiful river captured in a spring evening.
One of the most beautiful sites in Lake District, UK with star trails. In the middle of the shooting session for the foreground, car passed by and I left that in, which gave the name to my final image.
Comet Neowise put up a brilliant show in summer, 2020. Among many instances I managed to capture the comet, this is one of the favorites. It was so tranquil, I almost felt that time stopped on me.
AIts strange sometimes how whether conditions change. When I approached this location, I was welcomed by a hailstorm. But I ended up having nearly 8 hours of clear skys afterwards to capture this magnificent start trails.
This particular year, Persiods Meteor shower was very close to full moon hence most of the meteors were washed away by moon light but I managed to capture few and one particular lined up perfectly with the foreground subjects of the photograph.
